"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."
Matthew 5:11-12 (KJV)
We should be happy - the Word of God tells us so. But it is not so easy when you see the suffering of your brothers and sisters in Christ.
Christian victims of religious hate by Muslim extremists in Jaranwala city, Faisalabad. The attacks against our community have left deep scars - homes burned, churches desecrated, and families displaced. The pain is real and the wounds are fresh.
Yet even in the midst of this darkness, we hold on to the promises of God. Jesus Himself warned us that following Him would bring persecution. He did not promise us an easy road - but He promised us that He would walk it with us.
The believers in Jaranwala have shown extraordinary courage and faith. Instead of responding with hatred, they have responded with prayer. Instead of seeking revenge, they have sought refuge in the Lord. Their faith is a powerful testimony to the world.
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?"
Romans 8:35
