Christmas 2023 was a time of incredible joy at the orphanage as children received gifts that brought wide smiles to their faces and warmth to their hearts. In the spirit of the greatest gift ever given - Jesus Christ - our ministry organized a special Christmas celebration for the children in our care.
For many of these children, Christmas gifts are not something they can take for granted. Growing up in the orphanage, they have experienced loss and hardship that most children never face. Yet through the generosity of supporters and the faithfulness of God, we were able to make this Christmas a truly special occasion for every child.
"On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh."
Matthew 2:11
Just as the wise men brought gifts to the newborn King, we had the privilege of bringing gifts to these precious children - each one created in God's image and deeply loved by Him. The celebration included new clothing, toys, sweets, and other items that the children had been hoping for. But more than the material gifts, the children received the gift of knowing they are cared for and valued.
The day began with a special Christmas service where the children heard the story of Jesus' birth - how the Creator of the universe came as a humble baby, born in a manger, to save the world. The older children performed a nativity play, retelling the story with enthusiasm and reverence. Songs of praise filled the room as the entire orphanage community celebrated the birth of our Savior.
After the service, the gift distribution began. The excitement in the room was palpable. Children's eyes lit up as they unwrapped their presents, and the sound of laughter echoed through the halls. For the staff and caregivers, watching these moments of pure happiness was the greatest reward.
A special Christmas meal was prepared for all the children. Gathered around tables, they shared food and fellowship, creating memories that will stay with them for years to come. It was a reminder that Christmas is not just about gifts, but about community, love, and the presence of God among His people.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to making this Christmas celebration possible. Your generosity directly impacted the lives of these children and showed them the love of Christ in a tangible way. Every gift, every prayer, and every contribution matters.
If you would like to help bring joy to these children throughout the year - not just at Christmas - we invite you to reach out to us. Together, we can continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the most vulnerable.
