On August 14th, Pakistan celebrates its Independence Day - the day the nation was born in 1947. At our orphanage and ministry, this day holds special meaning as we come together to honor our country and lift it up in prayer before God.
"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."
1 Timothy 2:1-2
As Christians in Pakistan, we love our nation deeply. Despite the challenges that our community faces, we believe in the potential of this land and its people. Independence Day gives us the opportunity to express our patriotism and our faith side by side - trusting that God has a plan for Pakistan.
The children at the orphanage celebrated with great enthusiasm. Dressed in green and white, they participated in flag ceremonies, sang national songs, and joined in prayers for peace, justice, and the protection of all citizens - especially religious minorities. It was a joyful day filled with laughter, unity, and hope.
Our pastors and leaders led the community in corporate prayer for Pakistan's leaders. We prayed for wisdom, righteousness, and courage for those in positions of authority. We prayed for the protection of Christians and other minorities, and for a nation where every citizen can live in peace and dignity.
The celebration was also a time of togetherness. Families from the surrounding community joined the children at the orphanage for food, fellowship, and shared joy. Regardless of background, everyone was united in their love for Pakistan and their hope for a brighter future.
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance."

We believe that true independence is found in Christ - freedom from sin, freedom from fear, and freedom to live in the fullness of God's love. As we celebrate our national independence, we also celebrate the spiritual freedom that Jesus has given us.
We continue to pray for Pakistan every day - not just on Independence Day. Our hearts are filled with both love for this nation and trust in God's sovereign plan. May Pakistan flourish under God's hand.
